Recycle Week’s 2021 campaign focuses on the benefits recycling can have on climate change.
It'll run from 20-26 September and aims to encourage people to recycle more often.
Guernsey Waste recycling officer Tina Norman-Ross said that the island has a great track record for recycling, with Guernsey recycling 70% of household waste, while the UK are still aiming to reach just 50%.
This year’s Recycle Week focuses on the benefits of recycling in terms of saving energy, reducing carbon emissions, and preserving resources.
Pictured: Another key message that the campaign will highlight is the impact of food waste, which is another huge contribution to global emissions.
St James Concert Hall will be turning green alongside other iconic building across England and Northern Ireland to raise awareness for recycling.
Mrs Norman-Ross added: “We think that this year’s message around the benefits that recycling brings to climate change, is particularly relevant.
“We are not planning any large events for the week, but we will have lots of information going out through our social media channels with our own tips and hints and inviting islanders to share theirs too.”
