Father takes to the skies for charity

A local father, whose family has been supported by the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, took part in his first skydive over the weekend in aid of the charity.

Logan Fallaize descended over L'Eree Bay at sunset on Saturday and was greeted on the ground by his daughter Lochie and her mother Ellie Waterman.

In July last year, 18-month-old Lochie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and had to move to Southampton for almost a year so she could be treated. The PPBF provided a free home-from-home for the family in one of its two flats next-door to the hospital.

"This flat was our godsend," Ms Waterman said. "The team at PPBF couldn't have been more helpful, caring and friendly, making a very difficult time in our lives that bit easier. We will be forever grateful for all they have done for us as a family and we would love to give something back to such a well-deserving charity."

Lochie is now two-years-old and is undergoing treatment back at home.

"Thank you so much to Logan for doing this and Ellie and their lovely family and friends for organising this amazing fundraiser," said Sammy Meerveld from the foundation. "It was really exciting to watch, especially when Logan did a couple of spins - not sure if that was intentional or not! Then to see his little daughter run over to him after he'd landed - very emotional."

Despite being a "bit nervous" before the jump, Mr Fallaize said he "loved" the skydive and is even looking at making it an annual event.
