“Significant incident” closes estate for five hours

All three emergency services attended an incident today at Le Mont Marche, the estate closed all morning.

The Joint Emergency Services Control Centre, Guernsey Police, Guernsey Fire & Rescue and St John Emergency Ambulance Service were all involved in the prolonged incident.

Guernsey Police attended the estate at 04:00 “following reports of a disturbance”.

A man was detained by officers and taken to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital for treatement.

Pictured top: The area was cleared at 09:30, after having been closed for 5 ½ hours.
