Second airport café renovations begin

Saturday 22 June 2019

Work to upgrade Guernsey Airport's airside café will begin tomorrow.

The changes, which are being led by Caterleisure Limited, which has recently taken on the lease for both the airside and departure lounge facilities, will involve the installation of new kitchen facilities and equipment while the existing shop front will also be adapted.

The airside WHSmith shop will be kept open with access maintained throughout the works.

The project is part of an overall wider plan to redevelop the airport's two cafés, which are being rebranded as Bailiwick Bar and Kitchen.

Temporary catering units both airside and landslide are available for the time being, with cold drinks, tea and coffee, cold snacks, sandwiches, crisps and grab-and-go confectionary items all available.

The works are expected to take about three to four weeks to be fully complete, having started earlier this month.

Caterleisure has previously said it aims for both Bailiwick Bar and Kitchen outlets to have 'enhanced dining facilities, new kitchens and food preparation equipment'. It is understood this will allow for an expanded food and drink menu.

Guernsey Airport has apologised for any inconvenience caused while the work is taking place.
