Search for missing man continues

Tuesday 14 January 2020

A 29-year-old man remains unaccounted for, two days after Guernsey Police first said he was missing.

Matthew Bourgaize was reported missing on Saturday, but he's believed to have last been seen on Friday afternoon when he was said to have left a hospital appointment.

Concerns have been expressed on social media about his mental wellbeing as relatives and friends appeal for him to make contact.

Some friends have shared messages saying "let someone know you're safe" and "you're not in trouble, just let us know you're ok".

On Monday, Guernsey Police released two new images of Mr Bourgaize (above) in a bid to jog peoples' memories if they have seen him.

Guernsey Police are believed to have made some 'door-to-door' enquiries in the search for Mr Bourgaize, with a friend of his posting on social media that officers had been to his house to ask if Mr Bourgaize was there.

Anyone who knows where he is, or has seen or heard from Mr Bourgaize is asked to call Guernsey Police on 725111.
