SandpiperCI has agreed terms to acquire all three of Cocq’s Stores in Alderney.

Le Cocq’s currently trade from three sites: Le Huret Shop, Arkwright's in Victoria Street and the Freezer Centre at The Cuttings.

The grocery stores currently employ more than 20 people in full and part-time roles and SandpiperCI have said no redundancies are planned as a result of the acquisition.

“We are delighted to expand our retail estate back into Alderney," said Tony O’Neill, SandpiperCI’s Executive Chairman. "We are delighted to expand our retail estate back into Alderney. We had a small presence on the island some years ago and we’ve been waiting for an opportunity to invest more significantly.

Mr O'Neill continued: "Le Cocq’s stores have successfully served Alderney in one form or another for decades and we’re looking forward to investing and building on that success over the coming years.”

The three stores provide Alderney’s community with fresh, chilled and frozen products, alongside general groceries and bakery products.
