After blustery weather caused a last minute venue change, the Guernsey Retro Festival is making a "heartfelt plea" for donations to cover its subsequent losses so all profits can still go to charity.
The festival, which was launched for the first time in the island last month, had secured donations to three local charities; Guernsey Mind, Men's Shed Guernsey and Male Uprising Guernsey.
However, the move from outdoor venues to the former HMV building in the Market caused some unexpected expenses.
According to festival organisers, these included "street cleaning, emptying of waste bins, added security issues of protecting flower market, extra port-a-loos and the very sad situation where we had to deep clean the ladies' Inner Market toilets that someone had badly soiled."
Entry to the three-day event was free, with all expected costs covered by donations and help from sponsoring businesses.
Some local festival-goers and members of the public have already started opening their purses to cover the extra expenses, after organisers took to social media to appeal for donations..
"Please could you make a donation, however large or small, into a charity account so that we could ensure our idea or raising money for the charities is not damaged," they added.
