A report on the future of community and leisure facilities in Alderney should be finished next month.
In March, Policy & Finance announced that it had commissioned Avision Young to review what the island needs and identify ways of delivering that.
It came against a background of difficulties in getting the indoor swimming pool project completed - work was halted in 2016 when money dried up - and last year the prospect of building a community leisure centre was floated.
Alderney currently enjoys around 45 sports and fitness activities and more community activities in the arts and culture.
Aivison Young’s report was initially slated to be completed in the “Spring” and then taken to P&F for consideration.
A States of Alderney spokesperson confirmed they were still waiting for the final report from the consultants, but that it was expected in July.
The study is looking at Alderney’s needs and current provision as well as States assets that could be used or adapted.
The recommendations lead to the repurposing or consolidating current sites or creating new single or multi-site facilities.
P&F members Ian Carter and Bill Abel are the political representatives for the work, which has involved talking directly with those involved in as well as a wider survey of residents.
Opinions from off island providers have also been gathered.
