Red Arrows to headline momentous air display

Thursday 10 September 2020

Today's Air Display will see the Red Arrows spearhead a two-hour spectacle in what will be the only seafront airshow to take place in the British Isles this year.

After months of uncertainty over the Covid-19 pandemic, organisers of the display confirmed earlier this summer that the air display would go ahead, making it one of just four to take place in the British Isles this year.

It also the only seafront airshow and one of only three full displays performed by the Red Arrows in the 2020 season.

The up-to-date schedule for the display will see BBMF Spitfire and Hurricane take to the skies at around 11:00.

Seven different displays will be performed before the Red Arrows start at approximately 12:50.

This year’s display is more significant than usual, not just because of the worldwide pandemic, but because it marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
