Guernsey Police are urging people not to distribute a video circling around social media groups in the last few days showing a mental health incident in public.
Police say they are aware of the video showing a person in distress and said sharing it is “inappropriate and unkind... where it could be someone’s parent, relative, child or neighbour".
“We’d encourage people to think about what they’re doing and what impact it might have on a member of the public before doing so. In this specific case, we’d ask that the video stops being circulated, whether in private groups or not.”
It added that if anyone has been affected by the video or similar instances, they should contact Guernsey Mind or Samaritans for assistance.
