WATCH: Guernsey Police launch local recruitment campaign

Guernsey Police are looking for up to ten new Police Officers to join the team.

They have launched this year's local recruitment campaign, giving potential candidates until 31 October to get their applications in.

"This is one of the most varied and exciting careers that Guernsey has to offer," said Head of Learning and Development, Jim Bell. "We will provide you with extensive, ongoing training and give you all the tools you need to keep our island community safe.

"Crime doesn't discriminate and neither do we - we want people from all walks of life, those just starting out in the workplace to those wanting an entirely new career. If you think you have what it takes, then we want to hear from you."

Chosen applicants will be required to take part in recruitment and fitness tests, assessments and interviews before being hired.

Successful candidates will start employment in February next year, when they will begin 15-18 weeks of training.

"After two years probation, you will have the chance to specialise and learn new skills. This is your chance to start a career where you can be a response driver, a dog handler, part of the firearms or bomb disposal teams or investigations - and where you can combat crime, keep our streets safe and contribute to the security of our islands.
