In 2022, two of the island's best freelance hobbyist photographers - Tim Sebire and Steve Archenoul - kindly agreed to allow Bailiwick Express to use their pictures as lead images in our daily news email.
In the year's final edition of CONNECT, Express' sister title, we invited Tim and Steve to share some of their favourite photos from the hundreds of fabulous images they have taken over recent years.
Their selections are a celebration of local hobbyist photography and capture some of our island's most distinctive scenes.
The full feature - and the rest of CONNECT magazine - can be viewed HERE.
Steve's pictures are featured below. Steve (SA) also shared some of his thoughts about photography with CONNECT Editor Matt Fallaize (MF).
Tim's pictures were featured by Express previously and can be seen HERE.

Pictured: This photo of Fort Grey was taken on 22 March 2016. "For this shot, the colours were just perfect," said Steve. "Basically, I was there in the right place at the right time."
MF: When and how did you first get into photography?
SA: I got into photography in 2015.
Originally, I went out and about with a compact camera just to take a few photos for family and friends overseas.
But I caught the photography bug. Photography became a passion of mine.
Pictured: Port Soif on 27 March 2016. "I was lucky to be there when the colours of the clouds and sea were absolutely perfect to capture on camera," said Steve.
MF: What do you most enjoy about photography?
SA: I love going out and about in Guernsey looking for good shots.
And I love the challenge of improving my own skills at the same time.
Pictured: Sunset at Perelle Bay. "I went purposely to capture the stunning sunset. Amber-Dawn is a friend's fishing boat. This is a favourite of mine," said Steve.
MF: What type of camera do you prefer to work with and what type of picture or scene are you naturally drawn to?
SA: The cameras I use are the Sony SLT A65 and the Sony SLT A57.
The scenes I get drawn to are varied. I enjoy Guernsey's coastal scenery and am very much drawn to the countryside of Guernsey too.
Pictured: October 2017. "This is one of my favourites taken of St. Saviour’s Reservoir. It is a beautiful place to visit," said Steve.
Pictured: "This is one of my favourite spots from which to take photos: in St. Peter Port, overlooking the fishing quay," said Steve.
MF: How much time do you typically commit to photography?
SA: At the present time, not as much as I would like. After contracting covid in June, I have been struggling with the long-term effects of it. But I am starting to get back out slowly.
Usually, when I have a weekend off work, I will go exploring with a camera. I hope to up my game soon and start getting out and about, like I used to before covid became an issue.
Pictured: St. Pierre du Bois Church in February 2018. "This was probably a once in a lifetime chance to get this photo because obviously it doesn't snow here very often. I am still yet to get a print of it done," said Steve.
More of Steve's photos are available on his website HERE and his Twitter page HERE.
