Search for Pablo goes on

Tuesday 05 November 2019

The search for Spanish rescue dog Pablo continues, with a humane trap set up to catch him near Fort George.

Pablo, who has been missing since last week, has been spotted in the area multiple times and it is has even been confirmed that he approached the trap over the past couple of days.

However, because he is known for being a nervous dog, the GSPCA is urging groups not to go out looking for him.

"We are all doing all we can to help Pablo be reunited with his owner," said the charity's Manager Steve Byrne. "Over the weekend, we set our trap and the team are checking it day and night and we know he has approached it.

"Trying to catch a nervous rescue dog can be extremely challenging and we are asking for sightings to be reported immediately.

"We don't want him to run off from the area that he has settled and are therefore asking people not to go out chasing or trying to catch him as this will very likely unsettle and scare him away."

Pablo is a brown, medium-sized make dog with a deformed front paw and no collar.

He was last seen between St Peter Port and St Martin's, near the Val des Terres and Fort George.

Dog walkers and other members of the public are being asked to avoid the trap, which has been set up in Belvedere Field, by the hay bales.

Anyone that spots Pablo is asked to contact either the GSPCA on 257261 or his owner, Catherine on 07781 459817 immediately.
