A partnership between Guernsey Electricity, GROW and the Little Green Energy Company will see over 300 solar panels fitted to the roof of GROW’s new facilities centre.
It is predicted that the solar array will generate over 135,000kWh of low carbon electricity each year - enough electricity to power 44 homes.
Additional panels have been installed on the roof of the training and hospitality unit to meet on-site demand.
Installation is due to finish this autumn as part of an ambitious £3million redevelopment project of the site at Les Petits Quartiers.

GROW is the 2022 Charity Partner of Express' sister publication, Connect.
GROW Director Angus Bodman said he and his colleagues are "delighted to assist the generation of more renewable energy".
“We are putting sustainability at the heart of our charity and to assist Guernsey Electricity deliver wider benefits is a real bonus,” said Mr Bodman.
“The hospitality and retail training unit, where some of the PV panels have been installed, will be open to the public whilst supporting our crew in learning retail and hospitality skills.”
The new facilities will provide first class training, health and wellbeing support to people with learning and other disabilities.

Stuart Blondel, Guernsey Electricity's Chief Commercial Officer, said: "This array is part of our pipeline of projects designed to increase the amount of energy generated on-Island from renewable sources.
“Investing in solar technology on this scale is the right thing to do for the environment and our customers and is another step forward towards reaching our net zero target.”
The electricity generated by the panels at GROW will be supplied to Guernsey Electricity for the local grid.
