The Kiln restaurant at the Oatlands Village has been targeted by thieves who allegedly took the till after entering through a window.

The burglary took place sometime between 17:10 on Wednesday 23 May and 07:00 on Thursday 24 May.

Guernsey Police said a rear window to the premises was entered and the till was removed including its contents.

Any witnesses in relation to the burglary, at Les Gigands Road, St Sampson, should contact the investigating officer; PC 129 Babbe on 725111 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

This incident is the latest in a string of police appeals for information following spates of criminal damage and other alleged attempted break ins.

Most recently Guernsey Police appealed for information after damage was caused at two football clubs, both of which are near Oatlands, on Grand Fort Road.

Some time between 22:00 on Friday 18 May and 08:00 on Saturday 19 May damage was caused to Northerners Athletic Club, with the investigating officer, PC 50 Baxendale, telling Express that the lock on the front door of the club house was broken as well as damage caused to the frame of a window.

Between 13:15 on Saturday 19 May and 08:30 on Sunday 20 May, damage was also caused to a portacabin and snack van trailer within the Vale Recreation Grounds.

While these incidents are not being linked they have all occurred within a short time frame and within a close geographical location. 

Other recent incidents have included spates of criminal damage in the north of the island as well as around Mont Arrive and the Odeon car park in St Peter Port.
