Nightime rainbow wows the Bailiwick

Tuesday 25 June 2019

Photos of a rare sunset effect were being widely shared across social media overnight as the sky turned pink and a rainbow effect appeared.

Gavin Arnold was among the first to share his image, sending it to Express telling us it was the view over Herm as dusk set in.

He said it was taken at around 21:00 and was caused by the effect of the sunset and an incoming storm.

The sunset caused different effects across the island, with Scott Tostevin taking two contrasting pictures from his home in the Vale.

On the west coast, Tim Langlois captured two images of the view at Cobo, showing the bright lights in the sky.
