New Bowl plans will be community focused

Tuesday 17 March 2020

The "community focused" plans for the future of the former-Island Bowl will be unveiled come summertime, a representative of the new owners has said.

While the owners, who purchased the building for £2.5million, have not yet revealed themselves, the acquisition agent, Watts & Co, told Express the new facility would be something for the entire community to get excited about.

Jo Watts said the plans had been in the works for six months, but there was still a little bit left to do.

"They are hoping to announce their offerings to the market by the time Summer comes around," she said.

The purchase itself was completed last week. It will be the first time the Guernsey Bowl has been used since it closed in 2017.

Before that, MFA was letting the leisure space - 24,000 square feet on the ground floor - from the former owner. The building also has eight flats above the bowling site.
