New airport cafes will be "considerably better"

Friday 14 June 2019

Passengers can expect a higher quality service and a greater choice of food and drink from the new cafés at Guernsey Airport.

Development of the ‘Bailiwick Bar and Kitchen’ is planned to start on Monday, and should be finshed by the end of July.

As previously reported by Express, the upstairs and airside cafes will both be operated by Caterleisure (Guernsey) Limited which is aiming to offer quality and value for money.

Commercial Manager of Ports Doug Wright said airport passengers will see a "considerable enhancement" in the choice on offer.

This is a substantial investment from our food and beverage operator. We believe airport passengers and terminal users will welcome this redevelopment in our food and beverage outlets," he said.

"Customers using both cafes will see a considerable transformation in the food offer and in menu choices. We are particularly pleased with the design choices for both cafes in the terminal, which will improve the overall dining experience at Guernsey Airport thanks to the investment by our food and beverage operator Caterleisure (Guernsey) Limited.

"We understand this work may cause some inconvenience for passengers, however, the project has been planned to minimise disruption whenever possible and is planned to be completed before the main summer school holidays.

Both the airside, pictured, and landslide (top) Bailiwick Bar and Kitchen outlets will have enhanced dining facilities, greater choice and new kitchens.

Temporary catering outlets selling chilled food, tea, coffee, and other cold beverages will be available to customers during the project. These will be near both of the existing cafes in the terminal.

Alcoholic drinks will not be available whilst the improvement works are taking place land and airside due to local licensing restrictions.
