A man had to be taken to hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning after being beaten up so badly that he required facial reconstructive surgery.

Guernsey Police is appealing for witnesses following the assault, which took place at around 12:45 on Saturday morning at Trinity Square.

As a result of the incident, a man was admitted to hospital with "severe facial injuries" that required reconstructive surgery. 

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time that may have any information. Investigators are also keen to speak with any businesses or residents that have CCTV covering the area around by the Pedvin Street zebra crossing. 

Witnesses or anyone else with any helpful information should contact PC 177 Le Galloudec or PC 137 Drummy on 725111. Alternatively, they can contact CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
