Last chance to vote!

Wednesday 07 October 2020

Today is the final day of voting in Guernsey's first island-wide election.

Those on the electoral roll who didn't sign up for a postal vote have until 20:00 this evening to cast their votes at one of the polling stations.

Each parish has at least one station, but they will only be open to residents of that parish:

However, the Performing Arts Centre in St Peter Port is a 'super' polling station and will accept voters from any parish.

All polling stations are open until 20:00 today, except St Sampson's High School which is now closed to voters.

Meanwhile, postal voting closed at 06:00 this morning. However, anyone who did opt for a postal vote and missed the deadline can still make their vote count by hand delivering it to one of the polling stations out dropping it into the postbox at Sir Charles Frossard House before 20:00.

Those who registered for a postal vote should have received a ballot through the post and will not be offered a new ballot at any of the polling stations.

Guernsey residents must have signed up to the electoral roll, which is now closed, to be eligible to vote in the election.

Each voter can choose up to 38 candidates, but does not need to use all of their votes.

Counting will begin tomorrow morning and the successful candidates are due to be announced later on in the day.
