The Smile for Georgie and Outdoor Guernsey initiative, Tour the Shores, saw a group of 50 kayakers circumnavigate Herm in under two hours
As part of the second of five expeditions around the islands of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, instructors from Outdoor Guernsey organised and led the expedition around Herm.
More than 50 kayakers completed the tour over the course of three days, with some fortunate enough to be joined by dolphins, puffins, seals and peregrine falcons along the way. The group also explored the silver mine and enjoyed a scenic stop at Belvoir Bay.
“The weather was perfect for the tour around Herm and we were very lucky to witness some of the wildlife the Bailiwick has to offer," said Outdoor Guernsey’s Antony Ford-Parker. "The team were fantastic and it’s a great way of exploring our islands while raising money for a worthy cause.”

The challenge has raised £9,000 so far for the Smile for Georgie Foundation. The group’s target is to reach £20,000, which will be shared between Les Bourgs Hospice and Guernsey Mind, and aims to help as many people as possible during a year when fundraising is difficult.
Andre Le Prevost, Georgie’s father, commented: “Smile for Georgie exists to support initiatives like this, to bring smiles to the faces of those taking part in fundraising and to people who will benefit from the money raised.
“Ant and the team are doing a great job leading the groups in their kayaks and we look forward to them conquering Sark, Alderney and then ultimately Guernsey.”
