Boosted signals promised in the north

Sure says customers in the north of the island should be receiving an improved signal after a bespoke mast - made specially, and designed to fit in with the aesthetic of Beaucette Marina - was installed.

The telecoms firm says the mast's installation should mean faster data speeds and more reliable coverage.

Due to the specific details of the mast, it was put together on the ground, before being lifted into place, in early August.

it is now live and should be providing better coverage across the north of Guernsey said Adi Byrne, Mobile Engineer at Sure.

“In today’s digital age, reliable network coverage is crucial for everything from staying connected with loved ones to conducting business efficiently," he said.

"We have ensured that St Sampson and the Vale have enhanced mobile network coverage.

“We are committed to not only improving Guernsey’s connectivity, but also respecting the island’s natural beauty."

Mr Byrne added that the aesthetic impact of the mast will be mitigated too.

"Flags can be flown from the top of the new mast, enhancing the marina's identity while ensuring residents, visitors and businesses enjoy uninterrupted service without compromising the scenic view,” he explained.
