Water and wastewater charges go up

Friday 14 January 2022

Guernsey Water is increasing charges for water and wastewater. The increases will take effect this month.

There will be an overall rise of 1.34% in the combined water and wastewater bill for metered customers and 2.32% for unmetered customers.

“Our water charges cover the cost of providing quality drinking water to our customers as well as collecting it as wastewater after they have used it,” said Guernsey Water Managing Director, Steve Langlois.

“These charges also fund the ongoing investment in the infrastructure that is needed to deliver these services.”

“Everyone at Guernsey Water works hard to make our business as efficient as possible by managing costs carefully,” said Mr Langlois.

“This means that, on average, a metered domestic customer pays just £1.25 a day for our water and wastewater services.”
