Guernsey Ports to make an a-pier-ance at Southampton Boat Show

Wednesday 08 September 2021

Guernsey Ports and the States of Alderney will be joining the Ports of Jersey on a joint stand at the UK’s biggest boat show later this month.

Guernsey’s Harbourmaster, Captain David Barker, said: “I’m delighted that Guernsey Ports will be at the Southampton Boat Show in 2021."

“Our coastline and surrounding waters are a tremendous asset, and it is important that we take this opportunity to show off what the Bailiwick’s marine sector has to offer.”

Working in partnership with Southampton City Council, visitors of the Show will be immersed in the world of boating and watersports.

The boat show will feature several marine manufacturers launching new vessel models to destinations looking to boost visiting traffic.

“It is important to use events like the boat show to better understand market trends, new developments, and to meet global marine sector stakeholders," said Guernsey Ports’ Managing Director, Colin Le Ray.

Assistant Harbourmaster at Guernsey Ports, Kieren Higgs, added: “The event is a prime time to meet key industry stakeholders and members of the public who are deciding where and when to visit on their vessels in 2022 as travel restrictions continue to ease.”

The event runs between 10 September and 19 September 2021.
