‘Guernsey-centric’ approach to future business welcomed by events firm

A political drive to support local businesses as much as possible has been welcomed by Joy’s.

The push to choose local could be the difference between some companies closing down due to the impact of corona virus or surviving in 2021.

“It’s no secret that some industries have been hit incredibly hard by the pandemic and the events industry is one of them,” said owner, Peter Joy.

During an Institute of Directors breakfast, Deputy Peter Ferbrache and Deputy Neil Inder said it was essential we keep money flowing into the island by using local businesses wherever possible.

“I was very pleased to hear the Chief Minister address the Institute of Directors last week,” concluded Mr Joy.

“That commitment to repairing our economy, plus his endorsement of the talent and expertise we have on-island across many different sectors, I believe, will be very beneficial to businesses such as Joys as we start to emerge from the shadow of corona virus.”
