The long-awaited ‘Proms on the Wicket returns!
The Proms series has been staged since 1895 and has grown from being a celebration of purely classical music to eight weeks of music across a range of genres. From Berlioz to Bollywood via jazz, musical theatre and children’s concerts, it all culminates in the Last Night and the traditional favourites of Elgar and Parry.
Guernsey has held its own Proms event since 2005, and this year’s Proms on the Wicket will take place at the KGV Playing Fields on Saturday 14 September!
Head down from 15:00 for an evening of fabulous music, films and more.
Supported by Guernsey Arts.

The wonderful Guernsey Choral Festival is back for 2024!
"This is a festival all about celebrating Guernsey's choral community and getting people singing. With over forty choirs regularly rehearsing and performing on an island just a few square miles, Guernsey is a world leader for choral activity for the size of its population.
We want to showcase what our local choirs love about singing through an annual programme of performances, workshops and community initiatives."
A series of events will be held from this Saturday 14 September, until Thursday 8 November. This week welcomes ‘Externi Consort: The Isle is full of noises’ to the Town Church from 19:30, followed by the ‘Externi and Town Church Choir: Battle of Britain Service’, at Town Church on Sunday 15 from 11:00.

Tessa is a young, brilliant barrister. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game; defending; cross examining and winning. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge.
Prima Facie takes us to the heart of where emotion and experience collide with the rules of the game.
The screening of this fabulous show will take place at The Princess Royal Centre for the Performing Arts, next Thursday 19 September from 19:00.
