Thousands of election forms processed

Monday 17 February 2020

More than 22,000 people in Guernsey have signed up to have their say in this year's General Election.

So far, the 2020 Election Team has processed around 8,000 household registration forms, the majority of which included more than one household member.

Meanwhile, online registrations have reached 7,000 since the new electoral roll opened in December last year.

"The Election 2020 team has been working really hard to input all these returned household registration forms, but we'd still like more," said Lead Election officer, David Mullins. "We'd like those people who have not yet returned their forms to dig them out from the kitchen drawer, or down the side of the sofa and get them back to us as soon as they can."

The electoral roll will close on 30 April, so anyone who wants to vote in June must have registered by then.

Guernsey residents can sign up online via election2020.gg where there is also the option to select a postal vote. Anyone who has lost their form or believes they haven't received one can contact the election office on 747579 to request another.
