Successful East Arm testing facility is maintained for now

Monday 29 November 2021

PCR tests without appointment will be available for another two weeks at the East Arm.

The drop-in on weekday mornings is being kept open for now after it succeeded in reducing waiting times and pressure on the test site at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

But there is a change in opening times. From today, it will be open between 08:30 and 10:15.

It remains open only to people who have already had a positive reading on a lateral flow test, which they must take with them to the East Arm. They must also have completed this ONLINE booking form in advance.

200 PCR tests have taken place at the drop-in facility since it opened two weeks ago.

A different arrangement is in place for people experiencing symptoms of covid-19 who have not had a positive lateral flow test.

The States said: “Anyone who is experiencing symptoms and who has not had a lateral flow positive must call the clinical helpline, who will schedule a PCR test for them at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital testing facility."

The States are keen to encourage people to maintain testing as the number of cases of covid-19 continues to rise and a new variant first discovered in Southern Africa causes international concern.
