Disruption to mobile services

Thursday 02 February 2023

Sure have confirmed that an issue is currently affecting mobile services across the Channel Islands.

In a statement on social media before 16:00, Guernsey’s biggest telco said that while many services are down, emergency calls to 999 were working.

Engineers are said to be investigating the issue “urgently”.

The company apologised for the “inconvenience caused” and said services would be restored “as quickly as possible”.

Sure have been approached for further comment.

People commenting on Sure’s post reported having issues with home broadband, and 4G services.

Retailers, including the Co-op supermarket, have been affected and asked customers to pay in cash.

Airtel customers also reported connection problems to Express.

Some services began to come back by 16:40.
