Development Framework drafted for L’Aumone House site

Friday 29 April 2022

15 – 25 new ‘dwellings’ could be built within the L’Aumone Local Centre following the publication of a Draft Development Framework for the L’Aumone House site.

The document will guide any future development of the 0.86 hectare site, which encompasses the following properties: L’Aumone House, Petit Lande, Sherwood and Bru’s Retraite.

While not all the land within the framework is currently available – most is already private property – the entire area has been included just in case circumstances change in the future.

“The land associated with the three dwellings ‘Petit Lande’, ‘Sherwood’ and ‘Bru’s Retraite’ have been included to ensure that any development is planned in a comprehensive way should circumstances change,” said the States of Guernsey.

“Inclusion of this land does not in itself imply that it must be developed but is intended to avoid piecemeal development and ensure efficient and effective use of the land in accordance with the IDP.”

The framework is now open for public consultation and you can give your feedback by emailing planning@gov.ggYou have until Friday 27 May.

“The draft framework invites public consultation, and we would encourage all those with an interest in this site to have their say,” said the States.

“The political members of the Development & Planning Authority have not had input into the draft framework but after all of the feedback has been received, they will make a decision on whether it should be approved and become Supplementary Planning Guidance for the site.”
