Deadline for 2019 tax returns extended again

Thursday 28 January 2021

The deadline for income tax returns for 2019 has been extended to 31 March this year.

The decision has been made by the Revenue Service, as the latest lockdown restrictions continue to negatively impact people in Guernsey.

The extra time will also allow the Revenue Service to resolve technical difficulties that have arisen when customers have tried to use the online corporate portal.

Revenue Services is looking to make 2020 income tax returns available by mid-April.

“We are working on a new online tool which will have more smart functionality," said Nicky Forshaw, Director of the Revenue Service.

“This forms part of the States’ digital strategy which is all about giving the public access to States’ services in a single online space.”

Customers will still be able to use paper forms to complete their returns and these will be made available at the same time.
