The CI Coop is staying quiet on why it is retrospectively seeking planning permission for a cold store unit that currently sits in front of its St. Martin store.
The supermarket chain has placed a 14.7 metre-squared container in a service yard to the south of the Grande Marche shop.
Express queried why and application was not sought before installation, if other stores have similar units, and if the reason was to boost in-island storage capacity.
But the CI Coop declined to comment.
No cover letter was attached to the application FULL/2023/0717.
