Both Condor and Aurigny have pledged to do all they can to ensure passengers get to where they want to be for Christmas.
Ferry services and flights have been affected by bad weather meaning some passengers trying to get to Guernsey or Alderney, or trying to leave either island, have been delayed.
Condor Ferries said that "whilst there are delays through this persistent spell of rough weather, we are ensuring everyone reaches their destination within 24 hours of their original arrival time."
Aurigny said its services have also been affected by "weather related disruption to transport services over the past few days".
A spokesperson said "we are working very hard to try to get all our customers to their destination at the earliest opportunity.
"As the locally based airline our reputation is built around how we perform in these circumstances, particularly around the busier times of year like Christmas when families want to be home together. We have back up resources available to us today and tomorrow and we will do all that we can to get everybody home safely by tomorrow evening."
