A peaceful protest will be taking place on Saturday at Candie Gardens organised by the local Extinction Rebellion group.
Organisers are encouraging participants to cycle with them to Candie Gardens from the Aquarium where they'll hear speakers talk about the importance of action to protect the environment.
Following the group's appearance outside the States Chamber last month in which they handed out copies of the climate emergency manual There is no Planet B, the group have stepped up their activities.
At the time deputies including Deputy Barry Paint and Deputy Jan Kuttelwascher were dismissive of the group's concerns. One of the groups aims is to get the States to declare a climate emergency.
Climate crisis was included in the latest update to the Policy & Resources plan and it is said they will introduce a new priority to mitigate climate change, and calls for a climate change action plan to the States next year. This can be read here.

This weekend anyone interested is invited to join the group to raise awareness of the cause on a ride and rally through Town.
"We can’t wait until May 2020 to have the States climate action plan in place, we need to get there sooner," the event organisers said on the Facebook page.
"We are in the midst of a climate and ecological emergency. We're holding a bike ride and rally to demonstrate how important this issue is, hear from a range of speakers and show the States that we want them to take urgent action, now," the event page reads.
Formed following the London based protests which saw weeks of disruption in the capital organised by the main Extinction Rebellion group, the Guernsey contingent have said their aims are not to disrupt but to draw attention to the issues.
"We're trying to raise our profile and get people together to let them know that they're not alone in their care for the environment and that together we can change things for the better," said group member Rob Gregson.
Those interested in joining the protest should meet at the Aquarium at 11:30 for the short bike ride to Candie Gardens. Participants can wear green and bring with them banners, decorations and posters. Speeches will take place from around midday. Those without bikes can simply walk or join in at Candie Gardens for the rally at midday.
