Clarence Battery work put out to tender

Wednesday 12 May 2021

The States is looking for a contractor to conduct site investigations of the Clarence Battery and the “zig-zag path”, which is the next stage in restoring the collapsed steps.

A landslip destroyed most of the Clarence Battery steps in March 2020.

Following a review by Property Services, a local civil engineering firm created a 3D model of the area and developed potential remedial works.

The States Agriculture, Countryside and Land Management Services now says it requires a detailed site investigation to inform further development. A tender process has been initiated to find a contractor.

The tendering process should “favour the selection of a local business” in line with its Procurement Policy, and once a contractor has been appointed, it’s hoped the works will start later this month.
