Bailiwick Rainbow Minds, a team administered by Liberate and Guernsey Mind, are inviting members of Guernsey's LGBTQ+ community to attend their pre-Christmas meeting this evening.

It will be a more informal meeting for people to 'meet the team' and find out about the group.

"We know the holiday season can be difficult for people for many reasons," said a spokesperson for Rainbow Minds. "This is a safe place for you to come and meet some friendly faces."

The session will take place from 18:00 - 19:30 at the Guernsey MIND Centre near the fire station. Anyone who is unable to attend, but may still require some form of support during the holiday season, is invited to get in touch with the team at Liberate; contact details are available from their website.

There are other charities in Guernsey that offer support as well. Switchboard, an LGBTQ+ helpline, is available from 10:00 - 22:00 every day, by phone (0300 330 0630), email (chris@switchboard.lgbt) or an online chat available via their website.

Samaritans also offer a 24/7 phone line on 711 030, which is 'a safe place to talk, any time you like, in your own way, about whatever's getting to you'.

The first 2021 meeting of Bailiwick Rainbow Minds will be 18 January.
