Christmas at Candie

Saturday 05 December 2020

Guernsey Museum is hosting a series of seasonal activities throughout December, in an effort to bring some festive fun.

‘Candie Christmas’ will take place every Sunday before Christmas, with each week hosting a packed programme of things to see and do, which Vikki Gray from Visitor Services hopes islanders will find unique.

“We like to think that Candie Christmas offers something different to other seasonal experiences. The Museum galleries are a unique backdrop to some really special activities at a time when we all need a bit of festive fun.”

Activities will include family Christmas films all day in the Frossard Theatre, arts and crafts for all ages in the Discovery Room provided by the Guernsey Arts Commission, and storytelling in the galleries from Guille-Allès Library.

Characters such as Frozen’s Anna and Elsa will also appear all across the museum in themed trails, and for an additional fee of £5, children will be able to visit Santa’s Grotto in the specially decorated terrace and receive a gift.

All throughout, Café Victoria will be open to hot drinks, mince pies, snacks and lunches.

Candie Christmas takes places on 6, 13, and 20 December from 10:00-16:00. Normal admission applies, which means the event will be free for Discovery Pass holders.
