Cobo Fish Bar customers could soon enjoy an alcoholic drink with their fish and chips, if the business' liquor licence is approved.
RW Randall Ltd, which owns the chip shop, will formally apply for permission to sell alcohol at the Royal Court next month.
If approved, customers will be able to choose from a "limited range of alcoholic drinks" to have with their meal, according to the company.

Randalls is applying for a Category I licence, which would allow customers over the age of 18 to buy alcohol and go off the premises to drink it. The premises would be licensed between 07:00 and 00:00.
The Cobo Fish Bar was bought by Randalls late last summer and added to its portfolio of other businesses in the area, including the Rockmount and La Reunion.
Representatives of Randalls will appear in Court on 21 July to make the liquor licence application.
