We're going on a bear hunt...

Thursday 08 October 2020

Local families are being invited to don their walking boots this weekend and head out on the search for hidden teddy bears, as part of the Countryfile ramble in aid of Children in Need.

The walk has been organised by Guernsey tour guides, with help from the staff at Iris & Dora who have made a new trail of fairy doors to look out for on the way.

The search will start at Portelet and finish at the Fairy Ring, where Debbie Duport will be running games and activities, and walkers can sit down to enjoy their picnics.

Meanwhile, more serious ramblers can carry on for a guided walk along the cliff paths.

After completing his isolation, Pudsey Bear will appear at the Guernsey ramble, as covid restrictions have prevented him from being able to join big groups in the UK.

This is the second year the Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Accredited Guides has organised a Countryfile ramble and donations to Children in Need will be collected on the day.

Guernsey charities who have previously been given grants from Children in Need are the Youth Commission, Sports Commission, Relate, Young People Guernsey, Safer and Autism Guernsey.

Ramblers will set off at 14:00 on Saturday 10 October, and the walk will go ahead rain or shine.

The car park at the Guernsey Pearl can be used if additional parking is needed.
