Check if you're on the list!

Sunday 08 March 2020

If you cannot wait until the election in June, or you just want to check your name is there, the Electoral Roll is now available for public inspection.

Anyone who wants to check their entry on the roll can have a look at either either their own home parish office, or a number of other chosen places: the Greffe, the Library, Frossard House and Beau Sejour.

There are now more than 23,000 names listed on the new Electoral Roll which opened in December last year and which will stay open for new registrations until 30 April 2020.

It is only available for inspection until 31 March though.

"We want everyone to check their own entry on the roll," David Mullins, Lead Election Officer, said. "There are still some people who think they are registered because they have voted before, but this is not the case and we wouldn’t want them arriving at the polling station only to find they are not be able to vote.

"So it’s really important everyone checks their entry by looking at the roll while it’s available for public inspection and reports any mistakes, irregularities or omissions to the Election 2020 Office as soon as possible.”

Anyone who wants to vote in the June General Election must be registered on this new Electoral Roll and is urged to check their entry by visiting one of the above locations. Having voted in a previous election does not mean you are automatically relisted on any new Electoral Roll.

You must be on the new roll by 30 April 2020 to vote, and can sign up online at election2020.gg or by filling in a household registration form.
