A local football club is launching a month-long online auction in aid of two mental health charities.
St Martin's AC will auction off more than 40 different items and experiences which have been donated by a number of businesses.
All money raised will go to support Guernsey Mind and The Calm Zone which is based in the UK.
"When it started I said to my parents I wanted to raise two or three thousand pounds," said organiser and St Martin's AC Director Max Hunter. "Now, because we're looking at 40 plus items with some items that could bring in a few hundred pounds in themselves, I wouldn't even want to stick a figure on it. I'd say three thousand plus would be great and I think that's achievable."
Following the auction, which will run throughout August, the proceeds will be split equally between the two causes.

"I personally have had real difficulty with my mental health before," Mr Hunter explained. "I left my job and had been really unwell. My parents and my friends helped me get from that and now I'm back working and loving what I'm doing. I am able to manage and live with the issues that come daily, but that isn't necessarily the case for other people. They don't always have the situation that I do of having friends and family around to help, so this project will at least go somewhere to try and help people that aren't as fortunate.
"One of the reasons we reached over to the UK is because when I was at university, I had a lot of issues and I knew there were a lot of people in a similar position to me there, and that was when I was off-island. I know it's really prevalent at the moment in the news and people are talking about it which is great, but it's not just a Guernsey problem and I wanted to make sure that we try to branch out."
Items up for grabs include four tickets to Soccer AM, a London break for two and designer sunglasses with more currently in the final stages of negotiations.
"It's not just standing there shaking a bucket hoping people are going to give you money," Mr Hunter continued. "It's get yourself a bargain! Go and get yourself a jewellery set worth £400 for £300. It's giving people a reason to donate. There's nothing like this that's happened in Guernsey before in terms of an online event where people can contribute from all over the place. They don't even need to be in the island to help."
Although the auction items are available to view now, bids will not be accepted until the event begins on 1 August. it will run until 31 August and top bids will be updated every few days.
Mr Hunter added: "There is still opportunity or companies to get involved even throughout August, they could just contact me and we could see if we could work something out.
"We've had fabulous donations from offices and service providers themselves. We've had quite a few different financial companies come in and collaborate with other companies to donate something together.
"I really appreciate the amount of people that have been able to help but also I can sympathise with the people that do want to help but can't because there are so many worthy causes for companies to help."
The items are available to view here and you can check for updates by following St Martins AC on Facebook and Twitter.
