CD launch helps support Stop Male Suicide

Sunday 13 January 2019

A cheque for £970 has been presented to Guernsey Mind’s Stop Male Suicide campaign following the launch of the new CD The Navigator by local songwriter Jim Delbridge.

The total is made up of a percentage of CD sales, a fundraising raffle at the album’s launch event in November at The Captains Hotel and a £100 donation from Vaughan Davies from Vinyl Vaughan’s Record Boutique.

Emily Litten, the Executive Director of Guernsey Mind said Guernsey Mind was delighted to be the recipient of the funds from the launch of the album.

"All of the funds raised will go towards our Stop Male Suicide Campaign which brings together everyone in our community to support men’s mental health. Five times as many men as women in Guernsey and Alderney take their own lives every year. Working together we can change this and we are so grateful to all the people who have become involved," she said.

"The funds will enable us to work with Man Club to deliver weekly peer support sessions from January 2019 and to extend Man Club into different Community Centres across the Islands."

£1.00 from every CD sold will continue to be donated to the cause. The Navigator can be purchased at Vinyl Vaughan’s Record Boutique, Aladdin’s Cave, Stan Brouard, Goodies in St Martins, Sula Gallery and The Captains Hotel.
