Today's Civil Contingencies Authority media briefing has been postponed until further notice following the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away this morning at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle, it was announced by the Royal Family today.

 Our Chief Minister now has commitments and duties to carry out and today's briefing has been pushed back "as a mark of respect".

The States of Guernsey says the postponement of the CCA briefing is due to the Chief Minister, Deputy Peter Ferbrache being needed for immediate duties. 

Pictured: The CCA has postponed its latest briefing, which was meant to be held at 13:00.

Guernsey's lead member for External Relations and Constitutional Affairs offered his condolences following HRH passing.

"I was privileged to meet HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh on several occasions," said Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq.

"He always came across to me as the epitome of courage, dedication, sharp wit and gentlemanliness. Our thoughts and prayers especially for HM the Queen at this time."
