Aurigny moves to fully electronic maintenance system

Aurigny is replacing its 20 year old aircraft maintenance and repair management system with a new, modern piece of software, it has announced.

Commsoft's OASES software has been chosen as the system it will use going forwards, a move the airline has said will allow it to use far less paper.

Implementation of OASES will begin shortly and the system will be shared by Aurigny's sister company, Anglo Normandy Aero Engineering.

Combining a technical sophistication with an intuitive user interface, OASES is structured in a 'modular format' to provide 'maximum flexibility and scalability'.

John-Paul Williams, Aurigny’s Technical Director, said: “OASES is an operating software used for the day to day management of aircraft maintenance and for the retention of aircraft records. It will be replacing our current operating software that is now over 20 years old.  Its key benefit to the organisation apart from the technological advantages is that it will allow Aurigny to significantly reduce its use of paper in the maintenance of aircraft as all work will be recorded electronically, allowing Aurigny to continue to move to a more environmentally friendly company.

"We have gone through a very thorough selection process with over 10 software options presented and reviewed. We have selected OASES as it will provide all the functionality we require now and in the future. It is an established system used by many similar airlines to us in Europe, who when asked provided us with positive feedback on the implementation and use of OASES.”

The global OASES community currently consists of more than 130 aviation operations in over 55 different countries, including national and regional carriers, business aviation and charter operators, cargo specialists, leasing companies, MROs and specialist rotable stockists.

Nick Godwin, Commsoft’s Managing Director, added: “We’re delighted that Aurigny has opted for OASES and it’s particularly gratifying that we won this contract against some strong competition from several other MRO IT systems. We’re looking forward to working closely with Aurigny to ensure a successful implementation and an excellent ongoing relationship.”
