Aurigny looks at chartering plane as weather affects flights

Wednesday 14 February 2018

Aurigny has apologised for disruption to today's regional and Alderney services as strong crosswinds batter the islands.

The airline says staff are working hard to minimise the weather related disruption.

In a statement Aurigny said:

"Unfortunately, strong crosswinds and wet conditions, have caused some of our regional flights to divert and this morning’s Alderney services to be cancelled.

"The forecast also shows the possibility of poor visibility late afternoon, which could further impact on our services.

"Affected passengers are being offered the opportunity to move onto alternative flights or to cancel and claim a refund."

In the statement Aurigny also said it is "looking at the possibility of chartering an aircraft, but this is dependent on the weather conditions."

The airline offered an apology to all passengers for the weather disruption and inconvenience the delays and cancellation caused adding:

"Staff are working hard to keep the disruption to an absolute minimum and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding."
