Aurigny lets customers book ahead

Sunday 05 April 2020

Aurigny has put its winter schedule out early, to help those looking to delay their holidays for a year due to the corona virus pandemic.

The airline is now accepting cancellations for flights in April and May, with many travellers having to postpone their plans.

To help with this, it has published its jet schedule service to Gatwick earlier than normal, with dates now available up until April 2021 - including the Easter holidays.

The schedule for Grenoble flights will be announced next week, so travellers can look forward to their skiing holidays, and dates later in 2021 will be published in due course.

Along with most other businesses, the airline has seen a lot of change in the past few weeks and has recently committed to further safety precautions for its essential trips.

The aircraft are being thoroughly deep cleaned by the team after each rotation and the number of available seats on each flight has been capped at 32 - rather than 72 - on the ATRs and 7 - rather than 19 - on the Dorniers, giving customers space to social distance.

On board facilities are now closed and the seatbelt sign will be illuminated for the duration of each journey, to prevent unnecessary movement around the aircraft.

With a significantly reduced schedule, many of the Aurigny staff now have a lot more time on their hands which they have been using to help people in the community.

Aurigny Aid was launched last week and, since then, the crew has carried out several errands for isolated people in the island, like shopping and picking up prescriptions.

Some of the other team members have been outsourced to essential places of work, where extra help is needed.

The States-owned airline has thanked customers for their support and understanding during this unusual time.
