The latest patient survey has seen positive feedback for Guernsey's St John Emergency Ambulance Service with most people saying it's excellent.

The Patient Experience Survey, which is held every year, also found 98% of people asked had “trust and confidence” that they received the best care and treatment from the Emergency Ambulance Service.

The survey covered other topics like the attitude of ambulance crews which 98% of people said was 'very professional’ or ‘professional’ while 98.5% said they were ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the medical treatment they received.

3% of people were unhappy with the time it took for an ambulance to arrive when they needed one though, but 91% said they were satisfied.

Cleanliness scored highly too with 87% of patients replying that they were happy with the the vehicles used.

Chief Officer Ali Marquis (pictured above) said she was pleased with the results of the latest annual survey.

“I am delighted with the results of the patient survey and I’m pleased that we have continued to provide a professional and valued service to the community. We really value the feedback we receive from patients and even though we have had a very positive response we want to not only maintain but improve the quality of the patient experience. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at the Emergency Ambulance Service, who really are First to Care”.
