The former shore station for Platte Fougere lighthouse, which was sold by the States for £535,000 in 2018 to a private company, has been listed on the market for £1,100,000.

The property is located at Fort Doyle in the Vale and was purchased by Tai Ming Ltd four years ago, which is registered at Beaucette Marina.

Swoffers are the sole agents for the property. The listing on their website details that “the current owners, in connection with Tyrrel Dowinton Associates, have secured a number of approvals to develop the site, ranging from three apartments, four apartments and also multiple occupation if required”.

It also states there is a possibility of creating “one bespoke home on site, given the panorama of views the property enjoys,” subject to required planning approval.

Sealed bids for the property are being accepted by the realtor until 28 June.

At the time of its initial sale, Deputy Neil Inder suggested the property should not have been sold without an auction or tender.

So far, four schemes have been approved by the Development & Planning Authority. These include a conversion to provide two ground floor apartments and an extended first floor apartment.

A further application was made to demolish the extensions and build a new extension at ground and first floor levels.

Swoffers add that the third application involved splitting “the ground floor into multiple occupation with a large flat at first floor level. Provision of seven bedrooms at ground floor, plus a two bed flat at first floor level".

The most recent application, which was approved last year, represents a “more simplified scheme, with three flats at ground floor and single larger flat at first floor”.
