Tuesday 01 October 2019

Tickets for this year's Channel Islands Christmas Lottery are now on sale, with a guaranteed top prize of £1million.

There are lots of other cash prizes on offer, including 230 new bonus 'Secret Santa' £1,000 prizes which will be added once 1,080,000 tickets have been sold.

Similar to previous years, the 2019 lottery has two parts; the Christmas draw and the scratch card with around 200,000 instant win prizes, with tickets priced at £3.

As well as a first prize of £1m, this year's draw will have a second prize of £50,000, five £10,000 prizes, 15 £2,500 prizes, 20 prizes of £1,000 and 25 prizes of £500.

"The lottery has been part of island life for forty years," said Senior Lottery Officer, Jon Taylor. "It's a fantastic opportunity for islanders to win a life changing amount of money and. at the same time, raise funds for local good causes and charities."

Once again, the Association of Guernsey Charities will be awarded proceeds to split between local good causes.

"The Channel Islands Christmas Lottery provides vital funding for good causes and charities across the Bailiwick of Guernsey and I encourage all islanders to support it," added Chairman of the AGC, Malcolm Woodhams.

Last year, the AGC received £218,118.

"Since 2013, the Christmas lottery game has raised over £1.4m for the Association of Guernsey Charities and I've been lucky enough to personally meet some of the people that have benefitted," said Mr Taylor.

"We would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to play responsibly."

The draw will take place live on ITV on 19 December.
