Elon Musk has revealed his Boring Company’s tunnel in Los Angeles ahead of its opening to the public on December 10.
Last month, the billionaire said the proof-of-concept tunnel – which is being used to test autonomous, electric carriages that can carry pedestrians, cyclists and even cars under the city as an alternative means of transport – would be opened to the public to test out in December.
Now, Musk has posted a new video online showing the tunnel’s full length.
The entrepreneur himself describes the tunnel as “disturbingly long”, running from beneath the headquarters of another of his companies – SpaceX – to a suburb of LA.
The tunnel is meant to be the first of a network of systems built in the US, with routes in Chicago and Washington DC also planned as well as a wider network of tunnels under LA.
